FZM Arena Lease Not Renewed

Reported on Saturday, February 3 2007

Sources at ESEN have confirmed that New Frontier Wrestling as well as the network will not renew their lease agreement with FZM Arena, the Eastern Conference Board of Directors and the Mikoto Family past the sophomore season of the Ultratitle.

This means that the upcoming Eastern Conference finale may be the last show by NFW in FZM Arena.

Insiders at the network confirmed that post-season restructuring has already been put into place, with ESEN looking to acquire more viewership and broadcasting opportunities.

With the news reported over the summer that ESEN will still maintain control of the Ultratitle, while moving it out of NFW -- industry insiders wondered if the Mikoto family and FZM Arena would still be apart of the federation, especially considering the struggles between the Mikoto family.

The recent rise of Ryoko Mikoto over her father Susano in the Eastern Conference, have had many critics and skeptics alike bashing her handling of the fed and protection of NFW World Champion, Felix Red, who happens to be her current boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Kin Hiroshi's health scares inside the ring at the hands of Felix, as well as Felix's hand in Kooter Cruise's supposed death fueled the fires that the future of the Mikoto family was bleak within NFW's future managerial structure.

Now, with the recent switching of brackets once again by Ryoko -- sources inside ESEN are claiming that Craig Miles himself is calling for an end to negotiations with the Mikotos.

Considering Miles' treatment of the Western Conference this may be the pot calling the kettle black, but Miles may be right in getting out of the FZM deal, while its still remaining profitable. Without the Ultratitle and conference split after Season 2, financial pundits were wondering if Miles would choose this route because of traveling and shipping expenses would increase exponentially with a complete roster having to trek to Japan every other week to produce a television show.

Now, with the news of the lease agreement not being reached, more rumours are starting to swirl. Supposedly, Michael Manson may be in line for a similar role to his past commissionership during the NFW days pre-Ultratitle. Miles trusts Manson, but Manson has also never challenged Miles' power within ESEN or NFW, possibly out of gratitude for the above-mentioned commissioner position after a serious injury at the hands of Bloodhunt and Armando Montezuma.

Another interesting rumour is out of Japan, claiming that ESEN and NFW are in negotiations with Buddokan Hall to host a yearly Pay-Per-View, keeping alive NFW's ties in the land of the Rising Sun.
